About Marlboro Fire District #1

Marlboro Fire District #1 serves the residents of Marlboro Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Board of Fire Commissioners is the governing body responsible for overseeing fire protection services within the district.

The district is served by the Marlboro Fire Company, whose dedicated volunteers provide emergency fire and rescue services to protect the residents, taxpayers, and visitors of Marlboro Township.

The Board of Fire Commissioners meets regularly to conduct the business of the district, including approving budgets, managing contracts, and ensuring the highest quality of fire protection services for our community.

Our Mission

Marlboro Township Fire District # 1, Through its Dedicated Volunteers, pledges to endeavor to provide Emergency Fire and Rescue Services to protect the taxpayers and Residents of, and Visitors to, Marlboro Township to the best of our abilities. Our staff, along with properly certified Volunteer Officers and members of the Fire Company, together share this undertaking towards the hoped - for betterment of the Entire Marlboro Community.

Governance

The Board of Fire Commissioners consists of five elected commissioners who serve staggered three-year terms. The Board is responsible for:

  • Overseeing fire protection services for the district
  • Approving and managing the annual budget
  • Contracting for fire protection services
  • Maintaining fire apparatus and equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with state regulations
  • Conducting regular public meetings

All Board meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Senator Byron M. Baer Open Public Meetings Act.
